This week Dinsey fans were surprised with the announcement of a new animation film called Encanto, which translates into Charm or spell. This new animated movie will be directed by Byron Howard and Jared Bush, and the story is inspired in Colombia. It will be the 60th Feature Film From Walt Disney Animation Studios!
What if I tell you that you will hear the iconic song Colombia, Tierra querida during the movie? Yes, you will. This new movie will take the audience to Colombia, where a special and magic family lives in a magical home. The film will follow a young girl called Mariana, and her family in Colombia. While the rest of her family is gifted with special magical powers, Mariana has none. I can only imagine what her adventures will be.
During the movie, you will perceive elements that will remind you of the tales and magical realism of Gabriel Garcia Marquez in his master books, as well as the culture of the coffee areas, a landscape referred to as Eje Cafetero.
The Moana songwriter, Lin-Manuel Miranda, will bring to life this magical animated film with animated music scenes around the Latino culture and their families, adding a touch of magic.
I have read a quote saying the film is about the ¨dangerously wonderful chaos of family.¨ I am sure you are excited about this movie as I am. The musical feature is slated to hit theaters in November 2021.
