Descubren un ARRECIFE de CORAL en el AMAZONAS

Existe un ARRECIFE AMAZÓNICO, un ARRECIFE de CORAL en el Océano Atlántico frente a las costas de la Guiana Francesa y el Norte de Brasil. Se trata de un extenso ecosistema de corales y esponjas. El arrecife está a una profundidad entre 60 y 220 metros, en la boca de la Cuenca del Amazonas, donde el océano se junta con el río, y casi no tiene luz. Se estima que tiene 56.000 kilómetros de extensión.
